Lord Zanatose Z'nebrion Everhate: Creator of House Everhate (Drow Lich God/Prime Evil of Necromancy, Summoning, Liches, Undead, Vengeance, Perfection, Drow Males, and magic used for evil purposes). As a former whipping boy of the original House Everhate in Mordnessar, Zanatose arose to become a half demon lich creature after finally binding with the other entity occupying his body and mind. This entity, known as Greeblix of the Pit, was a former Abyssal Lord (DR 1) that had fled its defeat at the hands of a trio of powerful solars. After the tutelage of Zanatose to become what is considered the Realm's most powerful necromancer, the drow lich and its demonic infusion come head to head after Zanatose realizes that Greeblix is attempting to phase out his personality and take over fully. After using the demon lord's powerful abilities to take down the Mythal protecting Mordnessar (and allowing the Shadow Dragons to shadow walk into the city and reclaim it), Zanatose flees to the surface world where he begins to study and master human magic, with a unique talent for mastering and creating necromancy spells on the fly.

In an attempt to create a power base on the surface world, Zanatose's experimentation leads to several failures at creating a general for his undead army. The most notable being Lord Hannible Holmes of Cormyr, whom he believed to be the perfect subject for his experiments into vampirism and creating the 'perfect vampire'. Zanatose eventually returns to the Underdark and recreates House Everhate using his own genetic material, magic, and the genetic material from various powerful creatures found through out the underdark itself. His lich magic spell Lich Womb allows him to cultivate and give birth to these mutants at an alarming rate. The first being his most powerful son, a half drow/half shadow dragon named Zaendras, after the sister he lost as a child.

After the recreation of House Everhate and his first 'clerics', Zanatose acquires the shattered remains of the Black Bone Bastion from Hannible Holme's ancestral lands in Cormyr. Using the spell Estate Transference, Zanatose moves the Black Bone Bastion to the negative energy plane where the creature that is the castle begins to regenerate and grow once more into the infernal palace once owned by his demonic personality, Greeblix.

With his power base growing at a fast pace, the lich begins his plans for divinity, aiming his magic and ambition at Velsharoon. In a divine coup involving Cyric the Mad, Zanatose kills Velsharoon and consumes his essence and divine spark whole and ascends to godhood. Regardless of this, Zanatose refuses entrance into Dweomerheart (against the wishes of Mystra and nearly causing a battle between himself and Azuth in the process) and instead retains his divine realm in the negative energy plane which he fondly calls the "Realms of Evil".

In an attempt to consolidate the power of undeath under his purview, Zanatose defeats and consumes Orcus, Kiaransalee, and Thasmudyan and as a result becomes an intermediate deity (DR 15) and begins spreading his worship to other prime material worlds through the use of his Dark Heralds (of which Izuel Ghalos is the most famous). As a result, he becomes not only a diety, but a prime evil.

Zanatose, after transfering his power to the Shadow Weave, begins plotting with Cyric and Shar for the downfall of Mystra, which causes the Spellplague to wipe out much of the world's magic users.

Zaendras Mal'fior Everhate: Patron of House Everhate (Half Shadow Dracolich Arch-Necromancer): Zaendras is a creature of few words, because when he chooses to speak, entire rooms of living creatures wither and die at the opening of his rotting lizard-like mouth. As the new Dark Speaker, no creature can hear his words without suffering from wracking pain and eventual death. This is both a boon and a curse, as the half dracolich is forced to speak either through magical means (telepathy) or through the use of the drow sign language. He is served by three female drow elves who are both blind and deaf, which he bought on the open market after they were enslaved in the aftermath of Ched Nessad's fall into the depths of the underdark. He doesn't know that the drow triplets he bought are actually priestesses of Lolth sent to infiltrate the male ran house in the other wise female dominated city of Menzoberranzan. However, they dare not move against the powerful drow shadow dracolich for fear of being struck down by his magic.

Zaendras is also the favored of Zanatose, able to create or raise undead at whim and able to spontaneously cast any necromancy spell. In his most spectacular battle against the shadow dragons of Mordnessar, he summoned an army of spectres and ghosts to assault the lizards while he made an effort to find the creation ritual for the mythal that once protected the city. However, he was unsuccessful and was routed by the dragons and forced to flee through the use of portals back to the House Everhate compound.

As a whole, Zaendras is very solitary, wishing only to serve his god (and father) and to research more into magic at the behest of his endless curiosity.

Finmorel Ha'sstran Everhate: The Shadowblade: House Everhate's premier assassin and dandy, Finmorel may look fragile, but in reality is a powerful and natural Weredeath swordsman and assassin. Able to assume the abilities of a vampire and suppress them at will, Finmorel has plans on his brother Zaedras's position as favored of Zanatose and patron of House Everhate. During battle, he weilds two magical rapier and transforms to gain both the speed, strength, and accuracy of a vampire to enhance his ability to stealth and kill without being seen.

However, Finmorel's secret is that it is becoming more difficult with each turning to assume the form of a normal drow. His blood lust grows to the point that he cannot help but fill himself with that dark power and stalk the streets of Menzoberranzan to feast from the common drow. Zaendras has counselled his brother many times on his habits, stating that he endangers the entire House and it's mission with his wreckless actions and his blood parties and has led guards from House Baenre more than once within yards of the doors of their compound. Being at odds with nearly every other house in the city, it will not be long before House Everhate is embroiled in a house to house war in the streets.

I hate to say this, KoC, but I'm not sure how you can claim any copyright protection on a lot of this, considering you're violating WotC product identity kind of willy-nilly here. All the proper names of Forgotten Realms, beings, gods, and places are protected. I mean, Zan's cool and all, but you could get a cease-and-desist letter about him.

I am taking about my IP in the article...the characters, the Black Bone Bastion, etc. I don't want it showing up on other websites like I have before. I literally found Zan's stats on another site and had to forward a cease and desist letter of my own to the owner of the site's host to have it removed. I will actually go through and identify what is mine when the article is more in a finished state.

I see Orcus coming back... one way or the other.

So far, it's a cool story. Doesn't Zan have any daughters?

Three actually, though none of them are of particular favor of the female dominated society. They're interested in elevating House Everhate as a whole.

Couldn't you devour someone OTHER than Orcus?! What about that wimpy Necro demi-god or the remains of Mykrul!?
Take hold of my hand,

True, there's alot of FR material in there, but nothing that can't be cut-and-pasted with something more homebrew specific should Zan and Co. see print in a more formal setting. Underground drow cities are a dime a dozen these days, Lolth can be chopped in favor of whatever Spider Goddess you fancy, and so on.
Fortune has me well in hand, armies 'wait my command
My gold lies in a foreign land buried deep beneath the sand
The angels guide my ev'ry tread, my enemies are sick or dead
But all the victories I've led, haven't brought you to my bed
